James Wesley Whittington, 36, of Mountain View, Arkansas, passed away on November 4, 2025, in El Reno, Oklahoma. He was born on May 5, 1989, in El Reno, Oklahoma, to Ralph David and Donna Sue (Rising Bear) Whittington.
James was a Christian and of the Assembly of God faith. He was a proud American Indian of the Arapaho Tribe. James was the life of the party—ornery, rambunctious, and always ready to play a prank. More than anything, he had a big heart and could always make you smile.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his mama, shooting guns, and going to church. James was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Ralph and Donna Whittington of Mountain View, Arkansas; his sister, Alinda “Lindy” Whittington of Mountain View, Arkansas; his niece, Aleah Mainord; his nephew, J.D. Russell; and two adopted nieces who were among the brightest spots in his life, Hazel Stone and Adrianna Stone. James is also survived by numerous cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Rising Bear; his paternal grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Whittington; and his uncle, Ray Rising Bear.
