In recognition of National Alzheimer’s Awareness and Family Caregiver Month, First Presbyterian Church of Batesville, 775 Boswell St., will host a community Lunch & Learn event on Nov. 13 from 11 a.m. to noon.

The program will feature Carolyn Berry of Alzheimer’s Arkansas, who will present “What I Didn’t Know About Alzheimer’s.” Her talk will focus on increasing understanding of the disease, its effects on families, and the resources available to caregivers.

November is observed nationwide as a time to honor the millions of Americans living with Alzheimer’s and the caregivers who support them. Independence County Judge Kevin Jeffery recently issued a proclamation recognizing the observance and reaffirming the community’s commitment to raising awareness and supporting those affected by the disease.

Lunch will be provided by Alzheimer’s Arkansas, and the public is invited to attend. Those interested are asked to RSVP to Paulette Freeman by calling 318-617-6282 or emailing dementiaresources2025@gmail.com.
