Laverne McClusky Jones, 88, of Locust Grove, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026.
She was born January 19, 1937, in Columbus, Mississippi, to Oliver Neal McClusky and Gertrude Clara (Yates) McClusky.
Survivors include one son, Robert Jones (Laura) of Locust Grove; one daughter, Terri Wood of Jonesboro; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends who loved and will miss her greatly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years, Ernest Jones, and one son, Scott Jones.
Pallbearers are Michael Davis, Michael Martin, Robert Jones, Joe Flecher, James Sturch, and Richard Brinkley.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23, 2026, at Locust Grove Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Todd Self officiating. Burial will follow at Egner Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
