Obituary: Floyd Neal Morrison

Floyd Neal Morrison, of Newark, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at the age of 79. He was born December 24, 1946, in Batesville, the son of Joe Neal and Roberta (McClure) Morrison.

Mr. Morrison graduated from Newark High School in 1964. Floyd married the love of his life, Miss Kay West, on April 16, 1971. They shared fifty-four years of marriage. He farmed for M & M Farms for forty-one years, working alongside his Dad and brothers. He then worked for Entergy for sixteen years, retiring in 2004. Mr. Morrison enjoyed mowing and working in his yard. His hobbies included deer hunting, reading, and watching westerns. He was a huge Razorback fan. He loved his family time and being there for all the activities. Mr. Morrison was a faithful member of the Center Grove Baptist Church in Cord, where he served as an usher.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Taylor Kayanne Morrison and his parents.

Mr. Morrison is survived by his wife, Kay (West) Morrison; two sons, Shannon Morrison and wife, Jennifer, of Batesville, and Justin Morrison and wife, Melissa, of Newark; two brothers, Bobby Morrison and wife, Barb, of Newark, and James McCoy and wife, Lockie, of Newark; five grandchildren, Cassidy Morrison, Cady Morrison, Jackson Morrison, Brodie Morrison, and Chloe Morrison; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Rusty Tatum, Phil West, Dwight Davis, Scott McCoy, Jackson Morrison, Brodie Morrison, Laura West-Hinojosa, and Randy Morrison, Sr. Special pallbearers will be Cassidy, Cady, Chloe, and Taylor Morrison in Heaven. Honorary pallbearers will be Newark High School Graduating Class of 1964 and his coffee shop buddies.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Barry Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
