Obituary: Buford T. Humphries

Buford T. Humphries, 87 of Jonesboro, Arkansas, departed this life Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Buford was born September 28, 1938, in Dorsey, Mississippi, the son of Archie and Jennie Gertrude (Turner) Humphries.

His parents have preceded him in death. Buford was also preceded by several family members: his wife, Dorothy (Stokes) Humphries, son, Ricky Monroe Humphries, two brothers: Jack Turner and Felton Humphries, and three sisters: Mavis Cantrell, Inez Lillard, and Martha Humphries.

He graduated from Harrisburg High School, served in the Arkansas National Guard, and worked as a Hwy. Policeman for 27 years. Buford enjoyed spending time with family and friends and really enjoyed working outside, keeping his yard in great shape, sometimes mowing it twice a week!

He is survived by two step-daughters: Belinda Morris of Pocahontas, Arkansas and Patty Bozada of St. Louis, Missouri, one sister, Betty Murrell of Harrisburg, Arkansas, one grandson, Ricky Humphries Jr. and 2 great-grands.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Jackson’s Harrisburg Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00 until service time.

Funeral Service time will be 2:00 P. M. with Mr. Bill Eddington speaking at the service. Interment will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Arrangements are by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
