
Evelyn Marie McClusky, age 76, of Newport, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Black Rock on November 10, 1949, to Elmer and Agnes (Caseboult) Waller, Marie lived a vibrant life filled with a passion for both politics and journalism. She was known for her outgoing and friendly spirit, touching the lives of all who knew her.
Marie’s love for the outdoors was unmistakable—she cherished every opportunity to travel and explore new places, embracing each adventure with enthusiasm. Her zest for life was matched only by her devotion to her family, whom she loved unconditionally.
In 1966, Marie was united in marriage to Gerald McClusky, and together they built a loving and supportive family. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Bobby, Stan, Ricky, and Charles Waller; her sister, Phyllis Seaton; and her beloved son, Patrick Price.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Gerald McClusky of Newport; her son, David McClusky (Lisa) of Bradford; her brothers, Ralph Waller (June) of Paragould, Nicky Waller of Newport, and Mickey Waller (Robin) of Cabot; her sisters, Pat Travis of Noel, Missouri, Mary Clayton (Mike) of Heber Springs, and Ann Davidson of Floral. Marie was also a proud grandmother to Isabella McClusky of Bradford, John Price, Brandon McCullum, Cynthia Price, Nicholas Price and Whitney McKinney who will forever cherish her memory.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are John Price, Brandon McCullum, Brent Henderson, Steve Henderson, Josh Redd, and Shane Waller. Honorary pallbearers are Travis Martin and Darryl Grady. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel, with Jimmy Cooper officiating. Visitation will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026. Interment will follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
Marie will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know her. Her legacy of kindness, warmth, and enthusiasm for life will live on in the hearts of many.
