Obituary: Claude Irvin Huskey

Claude Irvin Huskey, of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the age of 100. He was born July 4, 1925, in Tuckerman, the son of Mack McCullen and Minnie Mae (O’Banion) Huskey.

Mr. Huskey married the love of his life, Miss Lois Berry, on January 22, 1947, and together they have shared an incredible 79 years of marriage.

Mr. Huskey’s life work was centered on sharing the love of Christ wherever God led him. In Rockford, Illinois, he faithfully pastored and founded two churches. Beyond his work in Illinois, Mr. Huskey devoted over six decades to ministry in Mexico as a minister, evangelist, and missionary. Whether standing behind a pulpit, praying with someone in need, or offering words of encouragement, he led with steady conviction, compassion, and a heart fully committed to sharing the message of Christ. Mr. Huskey was a member of Renewed Full Gospel Church in Bono.

Outside of ministry, Mr. Huskey loved raising birds. He especially enjoyed training cockatiels to talk and whistle. Mr. Huskey also had a green thumb and loved to tend to his garden.

Mr. Huskey is preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Jeanette Huskey; a grandson, Jeremy Scott Moseley; his three brothers, Roy Huskey, Ralph Huskey, and Willard Huskey; a sister, Alma Jean (Huskey) Wheeler; son-in-law, David Blevins; and his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lois O. (Berry) Huskey, of the home; three daughters, Brenda Hutsell and husband, Donnie, of Hoxie, Lynn Blevins of Swifton, and Debbie Stutts and husband, Timothy, of Sage, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Robert Hutsell of Jacksonville, Florida, Bobby Hutsell of Arkansas, Georgia Beasley and husband, Billy, of Walnut Ridge, Chad Mosley and wife, Kim, of Walnut Ridge, Jason Moseley and wife, Heather, of Maumelle, Josh Stutts and wife, Katie, of Oceanside, California, Todd Stutts and wife, Carolyn, of Billings, Montana, and Cherish Meacham and husband, Jonathan, of Jonesboro; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Huskey will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Renewed Full Gospel Church, with Bro. Joe Guthrie officiating. Interment will follow in Swifton Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church on Tuesday afternoon, beginning at 12:00 p.m. until service time.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Chad Moseley, Jason Moseley, Josh Stutts, Todd Stutts, Chase Moseley, Ron Moseley, Jeremy Bergeron, and Tylor Vermice. Honorary pallbearers are Timothy Stutts and Donnie Hutsell.
