Just some of the many quilts on display during March at the Independence County Library.
With March being declared National Quilting Month, the River City Piecemakers Quilt Guild has installed an exhibition of member-crafted quilts at the Independence County Library on Main Street in Batesville.
The display features a variety of quilts produced by the local organization. Organizers said the goal of the showcase extends beyond mere decoration. By bringing the quilts into a public space, the guild hopes to foster a deeper appreciation for the medium and recruit a new generation of creators to the craft.
“We wanted to recognize this art form and encourage others to be involved in quilting,” the guild said in a statement. “It is important to keep this skill passed down to others.”
The collection will remain open to the public during regular library hours through March 31.
