Families will have a chance next week to learn what to do when severe weather threatens — from the people whose job is to know.
The 100 Families of Independence County Alliance will hold a community meeting Thursday, March 19, at The Hub, 490 College St. in Batesville. The gathering will center on a panel discussion focused on weather awareness and emergency preparedness.
The panel will feature representatives from the Independence County Office of Emergency Management and the Batesville Fire Department, along with Arkansas Weather Network meteorologists Zachary Hall and Blaze Thomas.
Organizers say the event is designed to help residents understand the steps they can take before, during, and after severe weather events. Attendees will also receive information about local emergency shelters and community resources, as well as guidance on how neighbors can work together to protect families during storms.
