Obituary: Gale Wayne Thomas

Gale Wayne Thomas, 78, of Pleasant Plains, Arkansas, passed away March 26, 2026, in Batesville. He was born April 30, 1947, in Caraway, Arkansas, to Marley and Nellie Mae Thomas. He honorably served in the United States Army. He was a truck driver and a member of the Dripping Springs Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting, gardening and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, A.C. Thomas; and his sisters, Patsy Thomas and Thelma Martin.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lena Thomas; his sons, Tony Thomas (Darla) and Daryl Thomas (Felicia); ten grandchildren, Cayli, Bethany, Malachi, Ariella, Jordyn, Emery, Tyler (Ashlee), Hannah, Cassia, Levi; and one great grandchild, Azariah; one brother, R.C. Thomas; three sisters, Ada Petty, Eloise Strother and Terri Turner; along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Plains First Assembly of God Church with Rev. John Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. to service time at the church.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Thomas, Levi Thomas, Malachi Thomas, Randy Petty, Caleb Spinks and J.P. Blankenship.

Arrangements are by Qualls Funeral Homes.
