
State investigators have released new details regarding a Saturday morning confrontation that ended in a fatal officer-involved shooting in Izard County.
According to the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division, the incident began around 9:45 a.m. on April 18, when deputies from Izard and Stone counties responded to a report of a man armed with both a knife and a hammer.
The individual, identified as David Douglas, 35, of Mountain Home, was killed after an Izard County deputy discharged his service weapon during the encounter on Sylamore Vista Lane.
