BAAC announces winners of sidewalk chalk art competition during Artoberfest

The Batesville Area Arts Council (BAAC) hosted the fourth annual Artoberfest, an arts and music festival on Main Street, Saturday, Oct. 5. The festival featured over 25 local and regional artist/maker vendors, and live music by Ed Casper, Luke Middleton, and Erin Walters.

The festival also included a sidewalk chalk art competition for kids of all ages. The winners of this year’s contest for K – 6th grade include — 1st Place: Gareth Brookshire (6th grade), 2nd Place: Easton Curtwright (5th grade), and 3rd Place: Erynn Patterson (6th grade).

The Junior College-age winners include — 1st Place: Donna Terrell (12th grade, Batesville High School), 2nd Place: Brittany Myers (10th grade, Cedar Ridge) and Daycee Allen (a college sophomore at UACCB), and 3rd Place: Lacy Butler (11th Grade, Cedar Ridge). This is Donna Terell’s fourth year in a row to win this competition in her age group.

 This year’s festival was sponsored by Citizens Bank and First Community Bank.
