
Three people were killed in a highway accident last night in Lawrence County.
According to the Arkansas State Police Fatality Report, a 2002 Hyundai was traveling north on U.S. Highway 67 when it apparently crossed the center turning lane and struck the front portion of a 2013 Nissan traveling south on Highway 67.
The driver of the Hyundai, listed as Phillis Stayton, 57, of Hoxie, was killed along with the occupants of the Nissan, listed as Teresa Hart, 49, and Ronnie Hart, 55, both of Walnut Ridge.
The accident occurred around 7:15 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 67 near Lawrence County Road 410.
The weather was reported clear, and the road condition dry at the time of the accident.
