Two people died in an early morning fire New Year’s Day in Ravenden.
Randolph County Sheriff Kevin Bell told Jonesboro’s Region 8 News the fire happened around 3 a.m. Sunday at a home on Homestead Trail. A male and female, both in their 70s, were killed in the blaze.
No foul play is expected, but state officials were called to the scene.
The Region 8 News report said a resident on the property where the house was located awakened to the fire and attempted to get inside, but the home was already in flames.
