Dove season runs in split dates (Sept. 5–Oct. 25 and Dec. 8–Jan. 15), and the early velvet buck archery season (Aug. 29–31) was moved to avoid overlapping with dove season.
Applications for alligator permits close July 31 at midnight, with about 50 permits available. Alligator hunting seasons are Sept. 18–21 and Sept. 25–28. The Arkansas deer pre-rut is Oct. 25–Nov. 7, peak rut is Nov. 8–16, post-rut is Nov. 17–30, with expectations of a strong deer population this year.
