Learn the Art of Weaving at BAAC’s Hands-On Workshop
Get ready to get creative! The Batesville Area Arts Council is excited to host a Beginner Weaving Workshop on Saturday, March 21, at 10 a.m. at the BAAC Work/Shop on Main, 246 E. Main Street in downtown Batesville.
Join instructor Carly Dahl for a fun, hands-on introduction to the art of weaving. Participants will learn foundational techniques such as the tabby weave, soumak weave, adding fringe, and how to finish and hang their very own woven wall hanging. Whether you’re brand new to weaving or simply looking to try something creative and relaxing, this class is the perfect place to start. The workshop is recommended for ages 12 and up.
All supplies are provided, and each participant will complete a beautiful woven piece to take home. Registration also includes a small loom kit, so you can continue practicing your new skills long after the workshop ends. The class will last approximately two to three hours.
The cost is $65, or $60 for BAAC members. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
