Batesville Parks to offer Spin Your Wheels challenge for the month of May

Same old exercise routine got you spinning your wheels? If so, then the folks at Batesville Parks and Recreation hope you accept their newest wellness challenge.

They are offering just the thing for those cycling fanatics or for those just looking to get into biking. For the entire month of May, Batesville Parks and Rec have a challenge to “Spin Your Wheels.”

The Spin Your Wheels program is a long-distance cycling challenge where participants have the option to bike 50, 100, or 200 miles throughout the month of May. Batesville Parks and Recreation will also offer a “Beast Mode” challenge for advanced bikers who may opt to do all three options which would total 350 miles.

All participants will receive a short sleeve t-shirt for registering and a medal upon completion of the program with registration cost being $25 for members and $30 for guests. Participants can register online at batesvilleparks.com or at the Batesville Community Center front desk, according to a release. The Batesville Community Center is located at 1420 20th St. The phone number is (870) 698-2427.

Batesville Parks and Recreation also has a free cycling program open to everyone called Bike Batesville. The Bike Batesville program will be every Thursday beginning May 2 with participants meeting in the south parking lot of the Batesville Community Center The ride will start at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited (ages 10 and up). Riders will complete approximately 10 miles with the ride taking an hour or so to complete. This is a beginner friendly bike ride with a helmet.

The Spin Your Wheels challenge coincides with National Bike Month as well as the Bike Batesville program. May is National Bike Month, where many communities and government entities encourage members to bike regularly with Bike to Work as well as Bike Everywhere campaigns.
