A woman who was talking irrationally to a police officer in west Batesville on Saturday, Nov. 30, ended up behind bars when drug paraphernalia was found in her underwear, according to a Batesville Police Department release.

The woman, identified as Whitney Leasure (pictured), approached a city patrol unit on North Central Avenue driven by BPD officer Sadie Magee, who noted Leasure was obviously intoxicated and was speaking “frantically and irrationally,” the release said.

After exiting the patrol vehicle, the officer began to arrest Leasure when she became irate and uncooperative. During the original pat-down, Leasure admitted to having a smoking pipe in her underwear. Magee removed the pipe at which point Leasure became uncooperative again, according to the release.

Magee ultimately placed Leasure in custody and transported her to the county jail where she was cited for disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public intoxication.

Whitney Leasure was also recently arrested after a Nov. 24 incident. For information on that story, click here.
