Mountain View Yellowjackets pick up second victory of the season defeating the Hector Wildcats, 46-27

On Friday night at Yellowjacket Stadium, the Mountain View Yellowjackets picked up their second victory of the season defeating the Hector Wildcats by a score of 46-27.

For the third consecutive game, Mountain View scored on its opening possession, a 23-yard touchdown run from Senior J’Air Jackson.

Sophomore Randall Rorie would recover a Wildcat fumble on their first play from scrimmage giving the ball right back to the Yellowjackets.

Jackson would score again on an eight-yard touchdown run to give Mountain View a 12-0 lead, a lead they would never surrender.

Jackson led the strong Yellowjacket ground attack with 233 yards on 14 carries and six touchdowns as the Mountain View offense totaled 449 yards on the ground.

Junior CJ Rose added 114 yards on 19 carries, Toby Philyaw had 57 yards and Lane Miller added 33 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively for the Yellowjackets Sophomore Landon Goins had seven tackles, six by Miller, and five by Hank Criswell.

The Yellowjacket defense recovered three fumbles on the night as Mountain View improved to 2-1 on the season and Hector dropped to 1-1.

Next week Mountain View travels to Quitman to play a non-conference game against the Bulldogs.
