Marsha Kay Smith, 73, of Newport departed this life on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. She was born Jan. 20, 1948, to Woodrow Bishop and Tina Bell McGee.
Marsha attended Murphy’s Corner Baptist Church. She was married to the love of her life, Jerry Smith, for 56 years. She worked at General Motors and retired from Thomas and Betts. Her hobbies included crafting, she especially enjoyed crocheting. She also enjoyed cooking and could often be found preparing meals for her family. Fishing was a favorite pastime of hers as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Bishop and Tina Bell McGee.
Marsha is survived by her husband, Jerry Smith of the home; sons, Jerry Dale Smith Jr. of Lake City, Andy Smith and fiancé Tracy of Grubbs; grandchildren, Tyler Smith of Bay, Nolan Smith of Jonesboro, Haley Busby of Forrest City, Ashleigh Smith of Hickory Ridge, Emalee Smith of Hickory Ridge and Natalie Rodriguez of Brookland; and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be Friday, June 4, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at Ballew’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Dillinger Funeral Home.
