Citizens Bank, headquartered in Batesville, has announced the promotion of Diane Hawkins (pictured) to SBA and participation specialist, making Hawkins the first Citizens Bank team member to be overseeing SBA in the bank’s history.

Hawkins, previously serving as vice president loan administration manager, will take on new responsibility in this role, focusing on all aspects of the bank becoming an SBA preferred lender, working with participating accounts, and assisting the loan administration department.

“Diane’s new purview will enable us to really hone in on its skill and commitment to SBA,” said Pam Jones, chief operations officer. “Her years of banking experience are integral to the success of the creation of this new department, making her a perfect fit for this position.”

Hawkins has over 40 years of banking knowledge and experience and has been a vital member of the Citizens Bank team for many years.

“I’m excited to create and elevate new opportunities for our customers as we become a preferred SBA bank,” said Hawkins. “This new role demonstrates our commitment to small businesses in the communities we serve, and I’m honored to help Citizens Bank grow in this capacity.”

Hawkins is a member of Believers’ Community Church in Batesville and has served in many different capacities for several years. She is also a volunteer with Relay for Life.
