The final unofficial results are in from the Independence County Election Committee regarding the proposed bond issue for the Batesville School District.

Voters in the Batesville School District rejected the millage increase. The issue failed with 981 for and 2,801 against.

If passed, the plan would have provided for campus upgrades including renovations as well as the building of new classrooms; the addition of safety rooms on all campuses; and the expansion of the cafeteria that serves the junior and senior highs.

The results will become official after certification by the Independence County Circuit Clerk.
