Lois Ellen Lee 71, of Newport, departed this life Tuesday, March 28, 2023, in Newport. She was born in Newport, AR on April 3, 1951, to George Ed and Mary Ellen (Carter) Dixon. Mrs. Lee graduated from Branch High Class of 1969; she was a member of the 5th Street Church of Christ. She enjoyed all the family functions. Lois loved her family, traveling, helping the community, cooking, and spending time in her flower garden. She was a foster parent at the Jackson County School District.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Paige Lee, three brothers: Bobby Dixon, Ricky Dixon, Robert Lee Dixon, one sister; Bennie Faye Dixon.
Mrs. Lee is survived by her son John Paige Lee, Jr, three daughters: Trolon Dixon of Diaz, Lucianna Dixon (Marcus Carter) of Little Rock, DaKesha Ivey (Demond) Little Rock, five brothers: James Dixon (Charlotte) of Newport, George Dixon, Jr. (Barbara) of Illinois, Louis Dixon of Newport, Thomas Dixon (Deborah) of Indiana, Reginald Dixon of Illinois, and five sisters: Mary Boateng of Newport, Rose Bailey (Alonso) of Newport, Peggy Lee (Fredrick) of Newport, Elwanda Dixon of Illinois, JoAnn Crite of Illinois, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the 5th Street Church of Christ, with interment in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, April 7, from 5 to 7 p.m.
