Billy “Bill” James Jason of Mountain View

July 15, 1956 – February 14, 2024

Billy James Jason (Bill J), 67, of Fifty-Six, Arkansas, reached out to hug his Savior as he took his last breath on February 14th, 2024, while at home surrounded by his family.

Bill was born in Fifty-Six to Betty McConnell Jason and Johnnie Jason on July 15th, 1956. He was an outstanding husband, dad, brother, papa, and friend. Bill worked as a farmer, and as a deputy, and then held the office of Stone County Sheriff until he retired in 2006.

He left behind on this earth his wife, Gail Jason; daughters Kelly Lohnes and husband Brandon, Jennifer Jason, Whitney Arnold, and Husband Jonathan; one son/grandson, Gavin Jason; eight other grandchildren, Olivia Goodman, Carly Cooper, James (J.J.) Cooper and wife Whitney, Tommie Campbell, Jake McCarroll, Julia Lohnes, Chandler Arnold, Lincoln Arnold, and one bonus granddaughter Jessica Wallet; one sister, Jan Smith, and husband Bruce, one brother, Johnny Gale Jason, and wife, Dusty; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his mother, whom he adored, Betty McConnell Jason, his father, Johnnie Jason, brother Tommy Jason, and nephew Chris Jason.

Bro. Robb Arnold will be officiating his funeral on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at Fifty Six Missionary Baptist Church where Bill was saved as a young boy and remained a faithful member of for the duration of his life. Burial will be at Fifty-Six Cemetery with arrangements made by Roller Crouch Funeral Home of Mountain View.

Pallbearers will be Brady Smith, Dane Smith, John Robert Jason, Derek Jason, Tristan Jason, and Jondon Jason. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Arnold, Brandon Lohnes, Johnny Gale Jason, Bruce Smith, Paul Doyne Balentine, Mike Rusche, and Charlie Brown.
