It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marshallene Prescott Jordan, a beloved member of the Harrisburg, Arkansas, community. Marshallene, the daughter of John Marshall and Lena Mai Simmons, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength.
Marshallene was born on February 7, 1930, and raised in Harrisburg, Arkansas. After graduating from Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA) and receiving a BSC in Home Economics, Marshallene touched countless lives with her many years as a Home Economics teacher at Harrisburg High School, where she impacted generations of students with her knowledge, kindness, and practical wisdom. Her classroom was known not only for its lessons in cooking and sewing but also for the care and guidance she offered every student who walked through her door. Whether lending a helping hand or brightening someone’s day with her infectious laughter, she made a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
In her later years, Marshallene made her home at Woodbriar Nursing Home, where she was well known for her love of bingo, dominoes, and good company. She brought warmth and a smile wherever she went and was loved by staff and fellow residents alike.
Marshallene is survived by her cherished children, Connie Halbrook and husband John, Gary Prescott and wife Amber, Mark Prescott and wife Stacie, Ann Anderson and husband Mike, step children, Barry Jordan and longtime companion Darlin, Sheila Kirksey, Sandra Corman and Beth Branscum, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will forever hold her memory close in their hearts. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg, Arkansas, followed by a service to honor Marshallene’s life at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Pam Lamb in charge of the service. Friends and family are invited to celebrate her remarkable journey. The family will conduct a Private Interment later at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that consideration be given for memorials to be sent to Harrisburg First United Methodist Church

Marshallene will be remembered for her dedication to teaching and her ability to make everyone around her feel welcome and loved. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
