Kathryn “Kathy” (Cason) Tryon of Tuckerman departed this life on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the age of 60. She was born September 1, 1965, in Newport, the daughter of Luril Ray and Betty (McClure) Cason.
During high school, Miss Cason played on the basketball and softball teams. She graduated from Tuckerman High School in 1983. After graduation, she joined the U. S. Army, where she was stationed in Germany for a time. She later earned her LPN certification.
Her hobbies included crafting, painting, and fishing. She could often be found at Goodwill, looking for the next treasure. Kathy loved listening to music and cooking for her family. She loved all the moments she got to spend with her children and grandchildren; they were her world.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luril Ray Cason and Betty (McClure) Cason Hodges.
Ms. Tryon is survived by one son, Demel Cooper and wife, Lindsay, of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; three daughters, Tierani Tryon of Norfolk, Virginia, Ashli Tryon and Mike Osborne, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Shaine Cooper and Clayton Killgore of Norfolk, Virginia; one brother, Doug Cason of Tuckerman; one sister, Rebecca “Becky” Cason of Tuckerman; eight grandchildren, Kwinten, Eli, Erica, Zora, Nate, Trent, Hayden, and Declan; one niece, Carly Cason; and one nephew, Brady Cason and wife, Brigitte; and a lifetime of friends.
No services will be held.
