Gary Jackson, 65, of Mountain View, passed away on May 9, 2026, in Mountain View, Arkansas. He was born in Peru, Illinois on December 8, 1960, to Carl and Rita (Filipiak) Jackson.

Gary married the love of his life, Mamie, in September of 2012, and together they shared many wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who would do anything for the people he loved. Family was the center of Gary’s world, and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Gary had a lifelong passion for movies and greatly enjoyed his years working in theaters. He especially loved greeting patrons and visiting with them about the latest films. His employers valued him as part of their team, and the friendships he built there continued long after his retirement.

Gary also had a deep love for woodworking, a hobby that became one of his greatest passions. One of his proudest accomplishments was building a detailed model theater crafted to exact dimensions. Later in life, he began learning to play the dulcimer after receiving one as a gift. Gary was an avid dart player and enjoyed spending time at The Pickin’ Park listening to music and enjoying the company of friends.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Mamie; his sister, Linda Boutwell; his brother, Terry Jackson and wife Julie; five children; several grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Rita (Filipiak) Jackson; his brother, Jerry Jackson and his brother-in-law, Bob Boutwell.

The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
