A benefit concert to aid tornado recovery efforts in Cave City, Arkansas, will take place in Nashville, Tennessee, this weekend after damage to the town forced a change in venue.
The “Cave City Comeback Concert,” scheduled for Saturday, May 17, at the Green Light Bar, 833 Hawkins St., in Nashville, aims to raise funds for rebuilding after an EF-3 tornado devastated the small Arkansas community on March 14.
The powerful tornado, with winds reaching 165 mph, left extensive destruction throughout Cave City, damaging homes, uprooting trees, and causing significant structural damage to buildings, including Soul’s Harbor Pentecostal Church.
While the disaster resulted in a federal declaration, initial requests for individual assistance were denied, prompting appeals from state officials.
Originally planned for Cave City itself, organizers relocated the benefit concert to Nashville due to logistical challenges caused by the extensive tornado damage.
The Joseph Scott Elliott Band will headline the concert, which features performers including Wild Bill, Elijah Morris, Sarah Beth, Matt Wilkerson, and Jude Brawner. All proceeds from the concert will directly support Cave City’s rebuilding efforts.
