Obituary: Howard E. Weaver

Howard E. Weaver of Batesville, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the age of 67. He was born April 11, 1958, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the son of Richard and Glenna (Tresler) Weaver.

Howard graduated from Bentonville High School and attended Arkansas State University, where he was a member of the Sigma Pi fraternity.

On September 5, 1987, Mr. Howard Weaver married Miss Regina Creekmore, and together they enjoyed more than 37 years of marriage.

He worked for Arkansas Eastman Kodak and FutureFuel Corporation until retiring in 2018 after over 40 years of service. He also co-owned River City Print and Office in Batesville along with his wife, Regina, for several years.

Howard enjoyed fishing and watching the Arkansas Razorbacks. He had an unwavering passion for plants, dedicating countless hours to nurturing them and landscaping his yard.

His greatest love was for his grandchildren. Howard cherished every moment spent playing with them, never saying no when they would call out, “C’mon, Grandpa.”

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard D. Weaver.

Howard is survived by his wife of 37 years, Regina (Creekmore) Weaver, of the home; two sons, Todd Weaver and wife, Lindsey of Batesville, and Doug Weaver and wife, Shana of Greenbrier; six grandchildren, Simon, Thomas, and Peter Weaver of Batesville, and Sam, Abby, and Dan Weaver of Greenbrier; his 91 year old mother, Glenna (Tresler) Weaver of Bentonville; one sister, Kathy Poteet and husband, Chuck of Bentonville; his parents-in-law, Melvin and Anna Jane Creekmore of Jesup; his sister-in-law, Karen Brown and husband, Brent of Horn Lake, Mississippi; one aunt, Pat Gage of Centerton; his nieces and nephews, Alice Fankhauser and husband, Joel of Bentonville, Andrea Bradley and husband, Heath, of Springdale, Abbie Lycans and husband, Zach of Ft. Worth, Texas, Emily Poteet of Bentonville, Laura Crabtree and husband, Brandon of Conway, Katie Loop and husband, Jordan of Bentonville, Sara Poteet of Bentonville, and First Lt. Andrew Brown of Scott Air Force Base, II; his chosen family, Keith Smith and wife, Eva of Pea Ridge, and Rhett Maris and wife, Jan, of Newport; and a lifetime of friends.

Memorial services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to a charity of your choice or that you perform a random act of kindness in Howard’s memory.
