Google is the company behind a planned $1 billion, 300,000-square-foot data center at the Port of Little Rock, according to industry sources cited this week by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

The project marks the second data center announcement in Pulaski County within a week, following AVAIO Digital Partners’ separate plan to build a $6 billion facility north of 145th Street near Wrightsville.

Google has not publicly confirmed its role, and officials connected to the deal declined to comment, citing nondisclosure agreements and ongoing negotiations. Property records show a Delaware-registered front company, Willowbend Capital LLC, has acquired roughly 380 acres at the port for about $23 million. The company is linked to developer Michael Montfort, who has been associated with other Google projects in West Memphis and Indiana, according to public filings and previous reporting.

The Little Rock and Conway City Councils have annexed and rezoned land tied to similar data center proposals but have released few public details. Google is also constructing a $4 billion data center campus in West Memphis as part of what state and local leaders have described as a broader, multi-location investment.
