Jimmy Ray Williford, age 67, of Maple Springs, departed this life on February 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born November 6, 1958, in Newport to James Bozo and Patricia Ann (Looney) Williford, Jimmy grew up with strong roots in the farming community—a tradition he carried on with pride throughout his life. His unwavering work ethic and love of the land were evident to all who knew him, and his hands bore the story of a life spent nurturing the soil and feeding his community.
Beyond his dedication to farming, Jimmy was a man who embraced the joys of simple pleasures. He enjoyed afternoons spent playing pool, where his competitive spirit was matched only by his laughter and good humor. A true outdoorsman, Jimmy found peace and adventure in deer hunting and in the search for arrowheads, often exploring the fields and woods of Arkansas with a keen eye, looking for both.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, James Bozo and Patricia Ann (Looney) Williford; the love of his life, Cindy Cathey; his brother, Tim Williford; his sister, Teresa Harris; and his sister-in-law, Christy Williford.
He is survived by his sons, Jesse Williford (Stephanie) of Newport and Matt Cathey of Oil Trough; his daughter, Amber Dotson (Marlin Jr.) of Fort Myers, Florida; and his brother, Andy Williford of Maple Springs. Jimmy’s legacy continues in his cherished grandchildren, Paige Dotson, Reagen Dotson, and Marlin Dotson III. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends, all of whom found in Jimmy a loyal companion and a supporter.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Jesse Williford, Matt Cathey, Andy Williford, Ryan Weaver, Marty Williford, and James Goyne. Honorary pallbearers are Rutledge Farm Employees, Walter Winkle, Kyle Williford, and Earl Crawford. Services will be held at 2:00 Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time with interment at Maple Springs Cemetery.
Jimmy Ray Williford will be deeply missed but never forgotten. The memory of his steadfast character, enduring love, and zest for life will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to walk alongside him.
