Sharp County authorities seize drugs and firearms; pair held on $75,000 bond

A search warrant executed at a Sharp County residence has resulted in a litany of felony charges for two Williford residents after investigators reportedly discovered a significant cache of narcotics and firearms.

Angalina Cossey, 50, and Jessy E. Richmond, 42, were taken into custody on March 18 following a raid on a camper located on North Williford Road. The operation was a joint effort between the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office and the 3rd Judicial District Drug Task Force.

According to court affidavits, investigators uncovered a backpack containing multiple baggies of a white crystalline substance, digital scales, and a firearm. The search further revealed a second pistol resting in a pile of powdered substance in a closet, and a third firearm located inside a purse on the floor.

Field tests performed by investigators confirmed the presence of methamphetamine. Authorities also reported seizing a “green leafy substance” suspected to be marijuana, weighing between four ounces and 25 pounds, along with several unmarked capsules identified as Schedule I or II controlled substances.

Both Cossey and Richmond face a Class Y felony charge for the simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. Additional charges include possession of a controlled substance with the purpose of delivery and maintaining a drug premises. Richmond faces an additional charge of felony possession of a firearm by certain persons.

The pair is currently being held at the Sharp County Jail, each on a $75,000 bond. Both defendants are scheduled to appear in Sharp County Circuit Court on June 22, 2026.
