Obituary: Linda Faye (Searcy) Rorex

Linda Faye (Searcy) Rorex, lifelong resident of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the age of 82. She was born on August 5, 1943, in Swifton, the daughter of Odis and Selma (Hanes) Searcy.

Mrs. Rorex was a graduate of Swifton High School, Class of 1961. On December 21, 1962, she married Mr. Jimmy Paul “Jim” Rorex, marking the beginning of their 53-year journey together. They made their home in Swifton, where they raised their son and built a life.

Mrs. Rorex earned certification as an X-Ray Technician and began her career at Taylor Chiropractic, later working at Butler Chiropractic until her retirement in 2023.

She had a friendly and giving heart, always quick to offer a hello and a hug. Mrs. Rorex enjoyed watching “Gunsmoke” and loved going to yard sales and flea markets. Most of all, she cherished cooking for and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jim Rorex; two grandchildren, Branson L. Rorex and Britt N. Rorex; one brother, Talmadge Ray Searcy; one niece, Veronica Searcy; her sister-in-law, Christine Lefor Searcy Roberts; and her parents, Odis and Selma Searcy.

Mrs. Rorex is survived by one son, Jimmy K. “Bo” Rorex and wife, Shawn of Swifton; one grandson, Kai B. Rorex and wife, Amy of Walnut Ridge; three great-grandchildren, Blaine Elizabeth Rorex, Kyler Jane Rorex, and Finn Daniel Rorex; one sister, Elwanda Templeton of Newport; several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Graveside services are at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2026, at Swifton Cemetery with Mr. Jon Fears officiating.

Honorary pallbearers are her nephews, Steve Templeton, Mike Templeton, and Ronny Templeton, and the staff of Butler Chiropractic Clinic.
