Etta Lee Sutton, 78, of Mountain View, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on April 13, 2026, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born on February 20, 1948, in Clarksville, Arkansas, to Walter and Emmie (Sheppard) Cook. Etta lived a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion. She was a faithful member of Foothills Baptist Church, where her belief in God guided her every step and shone through in the way she cared for others.

Etta shared a beautiful love story with her husband, Jerry Dean Sutton. Married for forty years, their life together was centered on family, faith, and unwavering commitment. Together, they raised two daughters, and Etta’s greatest joy in life was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She poured her heart into her family, never missing a moment to love, support, and be present in their everyday lives.

To know Etta was to know warmth, laughter, and a spirit full of life. She was vibrant and outgoing, with just enough spice to keep things lively and unforgettable. She loved to dance, listen to country music, and had a special place in her heart for Elvis Presley. Etta was active in the Red Hat Society and delighted in spending time amongst her peers. She found joy in simple and beautiful things, painting and sharing treasured moments with her beloved sister and closest friend, Mary. Whether it was shopping together or simply spending time side by side, those moments meant everything to her.

Etta had a creative soul and a gift for beauty. As a talented artist, she owned and operated her own home art studio, where she brought color and light into the world through her paintings. She also took pride in always looking her best, finding joy in dressing up and adding a little sparkle wherever she went.

She worked as a cosmetologist and also served with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission as a krill surveyor, but her most important work was the love she gave so freely to her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Gwen (Ron) Jones of Ammon, Idaho and Carla (Jeff) Edington of Mountain Home, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Spencer, Macllain, Landon, Payton, Nathanael, Cierra, Emily, Madeline, Audrey, and Piper; eight great grandchildren; her sister, Mary Rice of Mountain View, Arkansas and her brother, Larry (Lynn) Cook of Vilonia, Arkansas. Each of them carries a piece of her love and light forward.

Etta’s life was a testament to faith, love, and the beauty of a kind and giving heart. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved husband, Jerry Dean Sutton; her parents, Walter and Emmie Cook and her brother, Dean Cook.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Foothills Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM with Brother Mike Sisk officiating. Interment will follow at Bickles Cove Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Edington, Macllain Edington, Payton Edington, Nathanael Edington, Landon Moyers, James Cox, Jeff Edington and Ron Jones.
