Allen “Rusty” Larson was born at Mercy Hospital in Benton Harbor, Michigan on July 26th, 1951, to his parents Allen and Evelyn Larson. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1974, where he earned his certification as a welder, obtaining skills that would shape his lifelong career.

Following his military service, Rusty dedicated 31 years to working as a certified welder for AEP. His strong work ethic and commitment to his craft carried him through a successful career until his retirement in 2007. After retiring, he and his wife moved from Bridgman, Michigan to Arkansas, where he enjoyed a slower pace of life surrounded by nature.

On March 5, 1988, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Larson, at the Cabin at Lake George in Michigan—a place that held special meaning throughout their life together.

Rusty had a deep love for the outdoors and working with his hands. He enjoyed restoring hot rods, camping, fishing, woodworking, and spending as much time outside as possible. Above all, his greatest joy in life was being “Papa.” He cherished every moment with his grandchildren and especially treasured the trips he took with his wife and Brooklyn, including their beloved “elephant hunts,” which brought them great happiness and adventure.

He also had a strong love for the Lord and found great comfort and purpose in his faith. He valued his church family deeply, forming lasting friendships and connections that meant so much to him throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Allen Larson; his sister, Nancy Myers; and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Larson; his sister, Barbara Ashmen; his children, Nicole (Tim) Hallman, Jason Orr, Heidi (Michael “Rib”) Hribernik, and Paul Larson; and his cherished grandchildren, Madeline Hribernik, Waylon Hribernik, Brooklyn Hallman, Aiden Hallman, Kaydence Hallman, and Detrick Hallman.

Rusty will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love for the Lord and his family, and the joy he found in the simple things in life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
