Kim Lahman, executive assistant to the chancellor at UACCB, visits with White River Now’s Chad Whiteaker about this Saturday’s Arkansas 250 Regional Convening.
The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville will host the Arkansas 250 Regional Convening this Saturday, April 25, at 8:30 a.m.
Originally tailored for educators, the college has opened the event to the public to highlight the region’s agricultural legacy and future.
The program features experts, including Donna Spance of the Arkansas Farm Bureau and Amanda Philyaw Perez of the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Research. A highlight of the afternoon is a live drone demonstration at the New Gateway Center, showcasing modern farming technology.
“We think that everyone deserves to have access to this kind of learning and these kinds of resources,” said Kim Lahman, executive assistant to the chancellor at UACCB. “Agriculture is a super important resource here in the region.”
The day includes a Scholastic Book Fair, a plant sale, and lunch provided by First Community Bank. While pre-registration is available online at White River Now, walk-ins are welcome.
Lahman made her comments during a recent appearance on Arkansas 103.3 KWOZ with White River Now’s Chad Whiteaker. Listen to their conversation below.
