James Allen Roberson, age 74, of Oil Trough, passed away on April 26, 2026. Born in Newport on March 2, 1952, to Jeff and Hallie Marie (Riddle) Roberson, James grew up surrounded by rural Arkansas. From an early age, he found a deep connection to the land, dedicating his life to working on the farm.  James found meaning in each season’s cycle, and his hands reflected the hard work and devotion poured into his livelihood. James was happiest outdoors, where he spent countless hours hunting, fishing, and watching the sunrise over fields he called home.

James was a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. Sundays were special to him, as he enjoyed dining at Longhorn Steakhouse with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Wayne Roberson; his infant sister, Caroline Marie Roberson; and his nephew, Paul Douglas Roberson.

He is survived by his brother, Jerry D. Roberson (Diana); nephews, James Roberson and Tony Roberson; great nephews, Noah (Madison) Roberson and Zach Roberson; great nieces, Alexis Roberson (Cameron Cole), Tatum Schooley (Jackson), and Halie Roberson; great-great -nephews, Henry Cole and Harlis Cole; niece, Christy Cathy; as well as special friends, Mike Jones, Larry Ginzell, and Steve Looney. James will be remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering loyalty, and the lasting impact he made on his loved ones and community.
