Shirley Ann (Barnhill) Rohrscheib, 79, of Newport, passed from this life on May 10, 2026. She was born in Oran, Missouri, on September 14, 1946, to George and Francis Bernice (Freeman) Barnhill.
A woman of quiet strength and deep devotion, Shirley built a life centered on family, faith, and the simple joys that brought her peace. She was a homemaker in the truest and most loving sense of the word—someone who created warmth, comfort, and belonging wherever she was. Books were her constant companions, and she treasured the escape they provided. She also enjoyed the quiet of her favorite fishing spot; she found calm in the water and joy in the catch. Shirley was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She poured her love into her family, offering guidance, encouragement, and a steady presence that shaped the lives around her. Her home was a gathering place—full of stories, shared meals, and the kind of warmth that lingers long after you leave.
Those who knew her will remember her gentle humor, her unwavering loyalty, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. She had a gift for listening, for noticing the small things, and for showing love in ways that were quiet but deeply felt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Charles Patterson Jr.; her brothers, Ronnie Lee Barnhill and Donald Ray Barnhill; her sisters, Janice Kay Rowlett and Carol Jean Roberts.
