Janet Elaine (Brown) Davis of Southside, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the age of 76. She was born on January 25, 1950, in Batesville, Arkansas, the daughter of George and Bessie “Bonnie” Brown.

She was a 1968 graduate of Southside High School and a 1972 graduate of State College of Arkansas (UCA in Conway). She retired after 38 ½ years of teaching, of which the last 27 years she spent at Southside School District. She enjoyed her years of working with students and faculty at Witts Springs, Cord-Charlotte, and Southside School Districts. She was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church at Southside, where she enjoyed being a part of the women’s ministry and Bible study.

Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who found joy in the simple blessings of life and the people she loved most. She enjoyed time spent on the farm with her husband checking the cows and eagerly waiting for the arrival of new calves. She especially enjoyed being entertained by and caring for her cats. She treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren and never let a goodbye pass without following them out to the porch or the vehicle for one last hug. Her generosity and giving spirit touched everyone who knew her. She was always doing for others and made those around her feel deeply loved and cared for.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Gerald Davis, and her parents. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Davis (Mark Ferguson) of Southside, Arkansas; a son, Jeffie Davis (Amber) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Cambry, Kendy, and Navy Davis of Jonesboro, Arkansas; a sister Kathleen Webb of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas; a brother Bobby Brown (Sharon) of Jacksonville, Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
