Carl Eugene Burleson, 70 of Marcella passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020. He was born on February 15, 1950, in Heber Springs to Hershel and Delleta Dill Burleson. He was a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with a BS in Education and retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Katherine Rollins Burleson of the home; one son, Kenneth Burleson (Lesley) of Little Rock; one daughter, Jennifer Burleson of Little Rock; one brother, Claude Burleson of Heber Springs; two sisters, Debbie Neighbors and Bonnie Grigsby both of Ida; two granddaughters, Ella Grace Burleson and Kate Elizabeth Burleson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 8, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Daryl Pitts officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcella Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Visitation will be Friday, August 7, 2020, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Caraway, Robert Case, James Case, Shawn Neighbors, Dr. Zach Anderson and David Simpson.
Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Akins, Shorty Coles, Ronnie Miller, Ronnie Burleson, Jim Lacey and Scott Neighbors.
