Main Street Batesville will host “Calling the Frogs” on Saturday, April 10, in Maxfield Park located in downtown Batesville.

According to a release from the organization, the event will celebrate springtime and Earth Day.

Activities will include a “Calling the Frogs” ceremony at 11 a.m. Children of all ages will use a wooden percussion instrument that mimics the croaking of a frog. Frogs can be purchased at the park on the day of the event or in advance at the Main Street Batesville office at 201 East Main St.

Also during the event, the community is invited to help construct a bottle cap mural to be placed inside Maxfield Park. Main Street Batesville is asking the community to collect plastic bottle lids to aid in artwork completion. Plastic lids can be dropped off at the Main Street Batesville office through April 8.

Local musicians will also be performing inside Maxfield Park from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., and the playground and seating areas will be available for use.
