Obituary: Joy Colleen (Clark) McCoy

Joy Colleen (Clark) McCoy departed this life on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the age of 85. She was born on November 3, 1940, in the Ballews Chapel Community, the daughter of Earl and Lena (Watkins) Clark.

Miss Clark was a 1958 graduate of Grubbs High School. She married the love of her life, Mr. Jerry McCoy, on June 5, 1958. Mrs. McCoy was a secretary for the Grubbs School District for thirty-two years.

Mrs. McCoy was a faithful member of the Ballews Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School and was Secretary/Treasurer for twenty years. Mrs. McCoy also sang in the choir and was a member of the Ballews Chapel Quartet.

Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, and baking. She was known for her fabulous Red Velvet Cake. Mrs. McCoy enjoyed traveling, especially the trips she took with George and Norma Marchand. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McCoy was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Clark, and her parents.

She is survived by one son, Timothy N. McCoy and wife, Sherry, of Springdale; one daughter, Lisa Huskey and husband, James, of Springdale; one brother, Kenny Clark and wife, Janet, of Grubbs; two sisters, Anita Davis and husband, Tommy, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Marquita Potter and husband, Dannye, of Midland, Texas; four grandchildren, Patrick Huskey and wife, Allison, Payton Huskey and wife, Alison, Neely Wolfe and husband, Josh, and Nelson McCoy and wife, Holly; seven great grandchildren, Anna, Samuel, TJ, Warren, Riley, Benji, and Easton; many nieces, nephews, and in laws; all her students and teachers from Grubbs School.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jason Clark, Patrick Huskey, Payton Huskey, Nelson McCoy, Charlie Haskins, and Keygn Haskins. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Ballews Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Ballews Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Interment will be in Ballews Chapel Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
