Dean (Huskey) Ivy Davis of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born March 12, 1934, in Swifton, the daughter of Hollie and Norene (Kolter) Huskey.
Mrs. Dean was a graduate of Swifton High School and went on to attend beauty school and earn her license in cosmetology. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Davis enjoyed volunteering her time as a Grandmother at Newport Elementary. She loved knitting and crocheting. Mrs. Davis especially enjoyed watching her hummingbirds and the purple martins that visited her yard.
Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her husband, Walker Davis; three brothers, Hollie Huskey, Jerald Huskey, and Jerry Huskey; a sister, Ruth Watts, and two infant sisters, Jonnie Sue Huskey and Francis Sue Huskey; her parents; and her first husband, Billy Hugh Ivy.
She is survived by her son, John Bill Ivy and Becky Lintz, of Tuckerman; a daughter, Billie Thaxton and husband, Kenneth Thaxton, Jr., of Newport; four grandchildren, Drew Thaxton and wife, Morgan, Blake Ivy and Hollie Looney, Brett Ivy and wife, Lindsay, and Kenny Thaxton, III and wife, Amy; three sisters, Carolyn Tarvin of Illinois, Shirley Cole of Tuckerman, and Sharon Smith of Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Gracelawn Cemetery, with Bro. Bill Chambers officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Thaxton, III, Andrew Thaxton, Jonathan Ivy, and Brett Ivy.
