Floren Wayne King, 82, of Southside, departed this life on Sunday, April 26, 2026. He was born in Poughkeepsie, Arkansas, on February 8, 1944, to Lowell J. King and Violet Peebles King.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sandy, of the home; his son, David King (Candi), of Southside; his daughter, April Mobley, of Inman, South Carolina; his brothers, Harold King, of Wichita, Kansas, and Larry King, of Southside; his grandsons, Tyler King (Marian), of whom he had a very special relationship with, being the first grandson and spent much time together while Tyler was growing up. Additional grandsons, Landen Mobley and Dylan King; his great-granddaughter, Emily Curtis; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Janet Marie King and Joyce King; and a grandson, Matthew Hubbard.

Per his request, he asked that there be no services and in his remembrance hang a bird feeder or put up a bird house and remember him for the jokester that he was.
