Obituary: Tammy Baze

Tammy Baze, 61, of Big Flat, passed away on May 13, 2026, in Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock after an extended illness.

She was born on March 01, 1965, to Jerry and Angilee Wallis in Marianna, Arkansas.

Tammy spent many years working as a sheriff’s dispatcher, sharing a passion for law enforcement with her former husband and dear friend, Bill Baze. In life, Tammy pursued a criminology degree.

Tammy was a beloved member of the community, with a kitchen table where coffee and Dr. Pepper flowed as freely as the conversations. She will be missed by too many to list, including nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and many friends.

She is survived by many loved ones, including her son, James Baze (Partner Felica) of Big Flat, Arkansas; her daughter, Angela McCoy (Husband Josh) of Tallahassee, Florida; one grandson, Johnathan (Roland) Baze, and two granddaughters, Angilee (Lyric) Baze and Macaila McCoy, whom she never had the fortune of meeting. She is also survived by her father, Jerry Wallis of Big Flat, her brothers George Wallis (Wife Lindsey) and Perry Wallis (Wife Dianna Ford) all of Big Flat.

Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Angilee Wallis and her brother, Terry Wallis.

Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Round Mountain Community Church.
