A portion of Harrison Street in Batesville will begin looking a little different within the next few months. Construction has started on the area’s first Casey’s General Store at 1779 Harrison St., directly across from White River Medical Center.
A house, that was later home to a commercial nursery, and a small former beauty shop were demolished to make way for the Iowa-based convenience store chain.
The publically traded company was formed in 1959 and currently operates over 1,980 stores in 15 states.
According to a statement on the chain’s website, its mission “…has always been to provide quality products at competitive prices with courteous service in clean stores at convenient locations.”
In addition to fuels, snacks, and drinks, Casey’s General Store locations also offer a large menu of food items including freshly made pizzas, subs, baked sweets, breakfast snacks, and a wide variety of beverages.
An opening date for the Batesville store has yet to be announced.
