Obituary: Dennis Dewayne Carpenter

Dennis Dewayne Carpenter, 69, of Batesville, AR, died on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Dennis was born on August 21, 1956, in Newport, AR, to Freddie (McDoniel) Carpenter and the late Robert Carpenter. Dennis was of Christian faith and attended church at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Dennis loved to work with his hands. He was always tinkering with something. He enjoyed working on old cars, tractors, or just anything that needed fixing. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, and he was an animal lover, especially his beloved dogs. Above all his hobbies and passions was the love he had for his family. Dennis was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be dearly missed by everyone who was blessed to know and love him.

Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Robert Carpenter; his sons, Robert “Bobby” Franklin Carpenter and Robert Andrew Smith. He is survived by his loving wife, Laura (Blake) Carpenter; his son, Richard Smith (Dione); his two sisters, Brenda Salazar (Augie) and Debbi Evans (Ted); his 3 grandchildren, Will Carpenter (Alonna), Nathan Carpenter (Elsa), and Garrett Carpenter; his two great-grandchildren, Kash Carpenter and Robert Franklin Carpenter; and many extended family members and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR and will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation will be from 1 PM until 2 PM. The funeral service, officiated by Bro Bob Dailey, will begin at 2 PM. The family would like to recognize the following people as honorary pallbearers: The staff at The Springs of Batesville; everyone at Caring Hands Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Caring Hands Hospice in Batesville.
