Wilma Meredith, age 60, of Newport, passed from this life on May 1, 2026. Born on June 15, 1965, in Wynne, Arkansas, she was the beloved daughter of the late Ruth Ann (LaMastis) Cavilee.
Wilma will be fondly remembered for her love of watching television, especially “Gunsmoke” and other classic westerns, which were among her favorites. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as riding around to enjoy the beauty of nature, and cherished the time she spent with her big brother, Jack.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Ann. Wilma is survived by her loving son, Robert Dale Baskins of Pine Bluff; her daughter, Shauna Lynn Baskins Rutledge; her brothers, Jack (Melissa) Cavilee of Walnut Ridge and Robert Cavilee of Van Dale; and three cherished grandchildren.
Wilma’s warmth, love for her family, and appreciation for life’s small moments will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
